Marine Le Pen condamnée à un an de prison sous bracelet: sa candidature à la présidentielle incertaine
The verdict is in: Marine Le Pen has been sentenced to three years in prison, one year of which will be served under house arrest with an electronic tag, by the Paris Court of Appeal in the so-called European parliamentary assistants case. Her candidacy for the 2027 presidential election remains uncertain.
On Wednesday, Le Pen made her candidacy conditional on not having been convicted of an offense and wearing an electronic bracelet. “When you are a presidential candidate, you must be completely free to move about, and that is not the case if you are wearing an electronic bracelet,” she declared on the LCI channel.
