Patrick Bruel: sa garde à vue prolongée de 24 heures, nouvelles plaintes à venir
The custody of Patrick Bruel, accused of rape and sexual assault by several women, has been extended by 24 hours, the Nanterre prosecutor's office indicated on Tuesday, while three new complaints against him for rape and attempted rape were announced.
The 67-year-old singer has been questioned since Monday morning at the premises of the first district of the judicial police in Paris on "facts which at this stage concern 13 victims", the Nanterre prosecutor's office, which centralizes all the procedures, indicated on Monday.
His custody will therefore end no later than Wednesday morning.
According to the Nanterre prosecutor's office, the ongoing investigation "concerns the facts (reported by) three women accusing Patrick Bruel of sexual assault and attempted rape" in 1997, 2000 and 2001.
It also examines "facts of rape or attempted rape, sexual assault and harassment", reported by other victims identified during the investigations.
Among these other facts, the denunciation of a rape in Dinard in 2012 by a woman who was 32 years old at the time of the events.
Patrick Bruel is also to be questioned about an "official complaint from the Belgian authorities" following a complaint of rape and sexual assault in 2010 in Brussels by a woman then aged 40.
In addition to his detention, several new complaints will be filed against him.
In an interview with BFMTV on Tuesday, lawyer Myriam Guedj Benayoun announced that a complaint for attempted rape would be filed against him "this week".
His client, a 46-year-old actress, accuses Patrick Bruel of attempted rape, which allegedly took place in 2000 at the singer's Parisian home when she was 19 years old.
That year, she participated in a filming for a music video for the singer. A few days later, she received a call from Patrick Bruel who invited her to watch the video at his home in the presence of the entire film crew.
"To his great surprise, when she arrives, he will be alone, naked under a bathrobe," says Me Guedj Benayoun.
Patrick Bruel will lead her to a room where the attempted rape allegedly took place: "He will climb on top of her, rub against her, tear her tights," the lawyer told BFMTV.
Two other rape complaints against Patrick Bruel will also be filed in the coming days, Me Corinne Herrmann, Flavie Flament's lawyer, told AFP on Tuesday, confirming information from BFMTV.
"These are clients who are reserving their words for the justice system and who wish to be heard by an investigating judge, which we will obviously request," explained Me Herrmann on Monday on BFMTV.
Patrick Bruel denies all the accusations.
Under pressure, he announced the cancellation of most of his upcoming tour, which was due to start in mid-June in Paris before taking him to festivals.
