Acte contre nature, transmission de VIH : Le Parquet fait le point sur 5 dossiers concernant 51 personnes
The Public Prosecutor at the High Court of Dakar provides an update on cases opened in recent months. In a press release, the Public Prosecutor reports that between March and July 2026, five judicial investigations were opened and assigned to the first and fourth investigating chambers of the High Court of Dakar.
According to the prosecutor's note, these proceedings relate to acts classified as rape, pedophilia, abduction of minors, unnatural acts with an individual of the same sex, voluntary transmission of HIV/AIDS and endangering the lives of others.
In total, 51 people are involved in these five proceedings. Of these, 49 are currently in pre-trial detention, while two others have been placed under judicial supervision.
The prosecutor's office also specifies that the development of these cases has already led to the referral of 14 people to the Criminal Chamber and 19 others to the Correctional Chamber.
The last two proceedings, which together concern 18 people, are still under investigation.
