Affaire Aziz Dabala : Nabou Lèye de nouveau face au juge ce vendredi
The investigating judge at the Pikine court is continuing his inquiry into the double murder of Aziz Dabala and Waly Gano at the Technopole. According to Les Échos in its Friday, August 28th edition, dancer Marième Lèye, also known as Nabou Lèye, is to be questioned again today by the investigating magistrate regarding "certain events that occurred during the investigation." This will be her third substantive interrogation since the start of the proceedings.
Charged and remanded in custody after the events, Nabou Lèye initially denied any involvement, notably contesting the interpretation of her cell phone's location data. She was subsequently granted release under judicial supervision. However, her legal situation changed last December following a twist: the main suspect, Mamadou Lamine Diao, recanted his initial statements, identifying her, along with Tarba Mbaye, as the mastermind and accusing her of inflicting fatal blows on the victims, the newspaper reports. These accusations, firmly denied by the accused during a confrontation, led the magistrate to revoke her judicial supervision and re-arrest her.
While technical evidence from a police judicial delegation has reportedly recently been presented "in favor of the dancer," according to the same source, caution is still advised. The investigating magistrate has not yet issued a final ruling in this case.
