Affaire des 37 milliards de l'ASER : Thierno Alassane Sall attendu ce lundi à la Section de recherches
The investigation opened following the complaint filed by Thierno Alassane Sall with the Financial Judicial Pool has reached a new stage. This case falls specifically within the framework of the Senegalese Rural Electrification Agency (ASER) affair, which concerns suspected financial malfeasance related to a 37 billion CFA franc contract.
The MP announced that he will respond to a request from investigators at the beginning of the week to provide new evidence. He shared the information about his summons on his social media: "I will go to the Research Section (SR) this Monday at 4 p.m., at their request, to submit the new evidence received from Spain." The politician clarified the procedural steps, stating: "I would like to remind you that I already had a lengthy hearing at the SR, as part of the investigation opened following the complaint I filed with the Financial Judicial Pool."
The ASER case is based on a complaint for corruption, embezzlement of public funds, and favoritism filed with the Financial Judicial Pool. It concerns the awarding and execution of a 37 billion CFA franc contract intended for the electrification of several hundred villages across Senegal.
The suspicions focus in particular on irregularities in the public procurement process, alleged overbilling, and the payment of substantial advances to service providers without any tangible work being done on the ground. Thierno Alassane Sall disputes the legality of these transactions and the final use of the funds, arguing that state oversight procedures were deliberately circumvented.
