We can be political opponents without becoming enemies. We can defend opposing convictions while preserving respect, dignity, and fraternity.”

The leader of the Alliance for Senegal party is particularly calling on his activists and supporters to accept this decision calmly, to avoid any form of verbal retaliation, and to actively contribute to restoring a climate of trust and mutual respect. "May this matter end here in minds and hearts. May forgiveness pave the way for dialogue, and may peace prevail over division," he wished.

Alioune Sarr reminds us that "Notto Diobasse is our common good. Its development, its stability, and the future of our youth must remain above all partisan considerations." He affirms that he "forgives without betraying my principles" and "extends a hand without weakness or resentment," adding that he wants "to choose appeasement, because no political victory is worth the loss of our brotherhood."

Pour que le pardon puisse avoir lieu, la personne incriminée doit être en tort, un fait attesté par des agissements manifestement incontestables et confirmés par une autorité neutre. Ici l’arrestation était arbitraire faite par des gens en collusion, une tentative d’intimidation dont ils sont habitués, un abus de pouvoir longtemps orchestré par des responsables qui dominent depuis la scène locale, mais dont l’influence décline désormais à mesure qu’une nouvelle génération émerge.
