French national Florian Julien Monneron, who was arrested in connection with the alleged homosexuals in Senegal, will ultimately not stand trial. He is among those investigated in his defense by the investigating judge of the 1st chamber of the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court.

In his committal order, the magistrate dismissed the case on Friday, August 7, due to insufficient evidence. He had been arrested under judicial supervision for acts against nature and intentional transmission of HIV/AIDS.

After examining all the evidence in the case, the judge considered that the evidence gathered was insufficient to justify referring the case to the criminal court.
