Cocaïne, kush, haschich… : sous le choc, la famille de Liss Ndiago soupçonne les…
Arrested by the research brigade of the Keur Massar gendarmerie company following the exploitation of intelligence reporting an alleged drug trafficking network - including cocaine, kush, methamphetamine (MD) and hashish - wrestler Liss Ndiago was brought before the court on Monday with four other individuals, including Wally Seck's dancer, Ndiap Zo, and another wrestler nicknamed "Déranger".
This arrest has plunged his family and friends into deep incomprehension. Having become the primary financial support for his family, the athlete had entered the arena with the ambition of lifting them out of poverty. His younger brother, Laurent, whose comments were reported by Le Soleil, said he was very surprised by the turn of events, describing his older brother as "very ambitious" and someone who doesn't smoke, drink, or "even less so, use drugs," despite running a small-scale alcohol business from the family home.
For his part, the president of the Diamaguène Sicap-Mbao stable, Ndick Fall, quoted by the same source, describes an athlete who has always been "serious in training, disciplined and ambitious", believing that this situation could be explained by "bad company".
This sentiment is shared by his childhood friend, Moussa Sarr, who recalls the impact of the wrestler's successes on his family's living conditions. Thanks to his earnings in the arena, Liss Ndiago had the old family home demolished—which "didn't even have a tap" and lacked the bare necessities—to build a modern building to house his father and aunt.
