Collecte collecte illicite de vidéos intimes: Le jardinier « Meuss » lourdement sanctionné
The Pikine-Guédiawaye court of summary jurisdiction sentenced MG Diallo, alias "Meuss," to one year in prison on Friday for the illegal collection of personal data. The 28-year-old gardener was also ordered to pay one million CFA francs in damages to his ex-partner, O. Touré.
In court, the defendant admitted to having a romantic relationship with the complainant and to filming their intimate encounters, maintaining, however, that she had consented on the condition that her face not be shown. This version of events was disputed by O. Touré, who reiterated that she had never been informed of these recordings.
During the investigation, similar videos involving other women were also discovered on the defendant's phone, who maintained that all the women involved had given their consent.
The prosecution had requested a one-year prison sentence and a fine of 500,000 FCFA. The defense, represented by François Senghor replacing Souleymane Soumaré, argued for acquittal on the dissemination charge, maintaining that the investigation had not established that the videos had been shared.
At the end of the proceedings, the court acquitted "Meuss" of the charges of violating privacy and disseminating images contrary to public morals, but found him guilty of illegally collecting personal data and sentenced him to one year in prison.
