Cour d'appel de Tamba : Le fils de l’ancien maire condamné à 3 ans ferme et 30 millions d'amende
The verdict in the appeal trial opposing businessman Ndiaye Samb, based in Koussanar, to Mamadou Korka Ba, son of the former mayor of Tambacounda, was delivered yesterday by the Tambacounda Court of Appeal.
Finding the defendant guilty of assault and battery, the Tambacounda Court of Appeal upheld the initial sentence: three years' imprisonment, in addition to a substantial fine of 30 million CFA francs, which he must pay to the plaintiff.
The investigation revealed that the accused allegedly inflicted injuries on the plaintiff before stealing 9 million CFA francs. Following a complaint filed by Ndiaye Samb, supported by a medical certificate attesting to a 25-day period of temporary incapacity for work, the gendarmes of the local brigade arrested the defendant. After being held in custody, he was brought before a judge and remanded in custody.
