e-Justice et Jokkoo ak Yoon : le Sénégal accélère la digitalisation et l’accessibilité de la Justice
The Ministry of Justice is continuing its digital transformation with the upcoming launch of two platforms, e-Justice and Jokkoo ak Yoon, which aim to modernize judicial procedures, strengthen their traceability and bring justice closer to citizens.
The Senegalese justice system is gradually embracing digitalization. Led by the Directorate of Digitalization and Automation (DDA), with support from the UNDP, the e-Justice platform aims to digitize the main stages of judicial case processing.
The Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court was selected as the pilot jurisdiction for this reform. Case registration, general case management, activities of the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Registry, investigations, appeals: several links in the judicial chain are now integrated into a single digital environment.
The stated objective is clear: to reduce processing times, improve the traceability of procedures and make the functioning of justice more efficient.
But this modernization doesn't stop with legal professionals. With Jokkoo ak Yoon, the citizen is placed at the heart of the system. A toll-free number, SMS, USSD, audio or video messages: several channels will now allow citizens to report difficulties encountered in the courts and track their progress in real time.
Another notable advance: the possibility of using national languages, particularly orally, to facilitate access to judicial information for the greatest number of people.
In addition to these tools, there are judicial services already accessible online via e-Senegal, such as the issuance of criminal records and certificates of nationality, procedures now simplified for users.
Through these various digital projects, the Ministry of Justice intends to make digital technology a real lever for modernization, transparency and proximity, serving a justice system that is more accessible to citizens.
The two platforms, e-Justice and Jokkoo ak Yoon, will be officially launched on September 10, 2026 by the Keeper of the Seals, Minister of Justice, Mr. Moussa Sarr.
