Enquête sur les finances publiques : Plus d’un an après, le FRAPP sort du silence
The Front for a Popular and Pan-African Anti-Imperialist Revolution (FRAPP) wants to know the status of the Criminal Investigation Division's (DIC) investigation into public finances. In a letter addressed to the financial prosecutor's office, FRAPP requests information on the follow-up to this procedure, which was launched in April 2025.
On April 14, 2025, the financial prosecutor referred the matter to the DIC (Criminal Investigation Division) to investigate several issues raised in the report submitted by the prosecutor general at the Court of Auditors. This report followed an audit of the state of public finances for the period from 2019 to March 31, 2024.
More than a year later, he deplores the lack of public information on the progress of the investigations. The organization specifically wants to know if the investigation has concluded and what legal action, if any, has been taken.
For FRAPP, this silence is likely to raise questions, given the seriousness of the facts noted in the audit and their potential impact on the management of public resources.
The organization clarifies, however, that its approach is not aimed at establishing the guilt or innocence of any individuals potentially involved. It states that it simply wants to obtain information on the follow-up to a procedure that directly impacts the management of public finances.
FRAPP thus invokes the citizens' right to information and calls for more transparency in the monitoring of this investigation.
