[Exclusive] Unnatural acts, deliberate transmission of HIV/AIDS: The Pierre Robert case referred to the Criminal Chamber

The investigation is complete in the case of French restaurateur Pierre Robert, alias "Peter Babtou," suspected of having run a pedophile network for nearly ten years. The Franco-Senegalese investigation uncovered cases of child kidnapping in Senegal and Morocco. According to exclusive information obtained by Seneweb, the senior investigating judge of the Dakar High Court has issued his order referring the case to the Criminal Chamber of Dakar, which has issued a partial dismissal.

In total, fourteen Senegalese nationals were brought before the Dakar prosecutor's office on February 6, 2026, following an investigation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC). Among those arrested were Amath Lo, Malick Sène Gueye, Birame Senghor, Matar Sylla, Babacar Diallo, Aliou Goudiaby, Moussa Ba, Abdou Lakram Gaye, Serigne Dame Mbow, Mamadou Badiane, Seydou Sangharé, Abdoulaye Sall Dieng, Papis Danfa, and Cheikh Tidiane Diallo. They faced charges of alleged criminal conspiracy, human trafficking as part of an organized group, pimping as part of an organized group, HIV/AIDS transmission, rape of a minor, pedophilia, acts against nature, and drug possession and use.

However, following the judicial investigation, the judge ruled in favor of some of the accused, who were subsequently released without charge. The rest of the group will appear before the Criminal Court of Dakar.

An alleged network between Senegal and France

In this case, the DIC's investigation was conducted under an international letter of request. The investigation led Senegalese investigators to a network described as organized and transnational, operating between Senegal and France. According to information released at the time by the National Police, the group had been active since 2017. It is suspected of having established a system for the sexual exploitation of young boys, recruited and then subjected to sexual abuse, which was allegedly filmed in some cases.

Pierre Robert, a French national, is presented as the head of the network. He was arrested in April 2025 in Beauvais, France.

The role of trainers…

The DIC's investigations led to the identification of four individuals presented as trainers. During their interrogations, they admitted to acting on the instructions of Pierre Robert, in exchange for money transfers.

Investigators also carried out several searches in different locations, including Almadies, Ouakam, Kaolack, and Tivaouane Peulh. These operations also resulted in the seizure of several items.
