Justice : libéré après 22 ans de prison, l'ex-lieutenant d'Ino reconstitue une nouvelle bande et...
Mamadou Sané, alias Fily Sané, former lieutenant of the notorious robber Ino, has been sentenced for the second time to life imprisonment with hard labor by the Pikine-Guédiawaye Criminal Court. He was found guilty of criminal conspiracy, attempted armed robbery committed at night with breaking and entering, as well as the use of weapons and means of transportation, along with his co-defendants Ibo Sow and Boubacar Ba.
A sudden relapse
L'Observateur, which reported the story, recounts the career of this former member of Ino's gang. Released in August 2021 after serving 22 years in prison for robberies committed in the 1990s, Fily Sané quickly returned to organized crime and formed a new gang. Between April and August 2022, the network carried out several targeted attacks in Mbao-Villeneuve, Sicap-Mbao, Touba, and Pire, making off with loot estimated at over 110 million CFA francs.
The newspaper published by Groupe Futurs Médias also details the gang's modus operandi, which relied on informants tasked with identifying targets and on code names for communication. The attacks were planned in advance and carried out after intelligence was obtained about the victims.
Neutralized by the crowd in Sicap-Mbao
The manhunt ended during a burglary at a shopkeeper's home in Sicap-Mbao. The same source reports that the assailants opened fire after being surprised by local residents before fleeing. Fily Sané was struck in the head by a brick thrown by a resident. Seriously injured and unconscious, he was apprehended at the scene, leading to the gang's dismantling.
