Justice : mauvaise nouvelle pour Pape Cheikh Diallo
Pape Cheikh Diallo remains in prison after the Court of Appeal rejected his request for provisional release. Les Échos reports that the investigating judge in Pikine declared the request inadmissible, ruling that it had been filed after the investigation had concluded.
Following an appeal by the presenter's lawyer, the Court of Appeal ruled in his favor on procedural grounds, finding the appeal admissible. However, on the merits, it refused his release, citing a persistent risk of public disorder. Having not filed an appeal to the Court of Cassation, Pape Cheikh Diallo will have to remain in prison until his trial, the same source added.
