Justice : vidéo de « Capitaine », gros rebondissement dans l’affaire du pâtissier agressé
Arrested by the gendarmerie at the Fair and then brought before the prosecutor, A. Diène and R. Seck were placed under a detention order by the senior judge after the opening of a judicial investigation, Libération reports.
This decision comes in a case revealed by Seneweb, which reported the assault of D. Mbengue, a 31-year-old pastry chef living in Yoff-Ndenatte. On August 31, he posted on his WhatsApp status an excerpt from a video of "Captain" Sy, son of the religious leader Serigne Moustapha Sy, in which he claimed he could "set the country ablaze." The post reportedly earned him insults from his neighbor, R. Seck, who then allegedly shared his number in a WhatsApp group for followers of the Mouride brotherhood, triggering threats against him.
According to Seneweb, the dispute took a new turn on September 4th when A. Diène contacted the pastry chef under the pretext of ordering cakes and arranged to meet him at Yoff-BCEAO beach. There, around 10 p.m., D. Mbengue claims he was attacked by six hooded men armed with telescopic batons. He managed to escape, but sustained head injuries.
During their hearings, R. Seck admitted to the insults and sharing D. Mbengue's phone number, while pleading for leniency from the court. A. Diène, for his part, admitted to contacting the pastry chef and arranging the meeting, but denied organizing the ambush.
