Tribunal de Pikine-Guédiawaye : Mamadou Guèye sort de prison après 5 mois de détention !
Mamadou Guèye, former director of State Property and ex-mayor of Djiddah Thiaroye Kao, was released on Thursday after nearly five months of detention.
The former mayor was remanded in custody on Monday, March 30, by the investigating judge of the 2nd chamber, as part of the investigation into the land acquisition case concerning the Pikine-Guédiawaye court. This incarceration followed his indictment on several charges related to this case.
This land issue has already implicated several figures of the former regime, including former Minister of Justice Ismaïla Madior Fall and Mame Boye Diao, also a former director of State Property.
Immediately after his release, the current president of AS Pikine expressed his relief and gratitude:
“ Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah! We give thanks to Allah SWT for His mercy, His protection, and deliverance. After hardship always comes relief. Allah tests, but Allah also delivers. ”
The judicial investigation into the land base of the Pikine-Guédiawaye court is continuing.
