Parcelles-Assainies: Drug trafficking network dismantled by the OCRTIS, three individuals, including a wrestler, brought before a judge

The men of Commissioner Adama Wélé, head of the Operations Division of the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS), dismantled a hard drug (MDMA) trafficking network that was actively operating between the Parcelles-Assainies, Cambérène, and Golf districts. The operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals, including a wrestler. On July 20, 2026, the trio were brought before the public prosecutor at the Pikine-Guédiawaye High Court on charges of criminal conspiracy and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. They were remanded in custody the same day and will be tried in the Dakar Magistrates' Court.

Infiltration and the police raid at the Golf cinema

It was the exploitation of intelligence obtained by the Dakar regional narcotics brigade that triggered everything. The source reported the existence of a large-scale MDMA trafficking operation run by someone known as "Ndiaw," who could be reached at a specific phone number. To dismantle the network, an agent from the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS) posed as a customer and successfully negotiated an order for 10 grams of MDMA for 120,000 CFA francs, using two intermediaries.

The delivery was initially arranged at the Golf cinema, then moved to Unit 5 of the Parcelles-Assainies district, near a gas depot. It was during the transaction that plainclothes officers apprehended the three suspects in the act and seized the drugs, cell phones, and an Agility 125 motorcycle.

The suspects are identified as Mr. Sylla, alias "Ndiaw" (31 years old), a mechanic residing in Parcelles-Assainies Unit 5. He admitted to possessing the seized drugs, presenting himself as a supplier. Already known to the police, he had received a seven-day prison sentence in 2015 for possession and use of marijuana. He confessed to using drugs since 2016. I. Baldé, alias "Prési" (25 years old), an audiovisual technician residing in the Fadia housing complex. He acted as the initial contact for delivering the order, claiming he wanted to "do a friend a favor" without any financial compensation. He admitted to being a regular user of hashish and MDMA. L. Wade (27 years old), a plumber and wrestler residing in Parcelles-Assainies Unit 5. He acted as the direct intermediary between his friend "Prési" and his neighbor, Mr. Sylla.

During questioning, L. Wade and I. Baldé admitted their role as intermediaries. M. Sylla, for his part, revealed that he had obtained hard drugs from a wholesaler for 40,000 CFA francs, before reselling them to his accomplices.

Although the main suspect claims to have started trafficking on the very day of his arrest, a technical examination of his cell phone revealed damning evidence: a video saved in his gallery showing a weighing of MDMA. When questioned by investigators about this footage, the accused remained silent, refusing to comment.
