Procès de l’injure : Ce que risquent Rox, Narou, Jessica et Ramz Yago
The hearing of the TikTokers at the Pikine-Guédiawaye Magistrates' Court was shocking. Rox la Chancelière, Narou Karma, Jessica, and Ramz Yago were tried on September 14th for criminal conspiracy, public insults, distribution of images contrary to public morals, insulting a public official, death threats, defamation, and racial slurs. Three separate cases were joined. The plaintiffs, Ibrahima Fall, Adji Mass, and Fatima Fall, did not appear.
However, Diodio Sow, representing Saly Manga, also known as "Anita," was present. The trial lasted six hours. The prosecutor requested sentences ranging from three months to one year in prison.
In court, Rokhaya Fall, also known as "Rox the Chancellor," born in 1986, admitted to some of the charges. She is being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy, public insults, dissemination of indecent images, death threats against Adji Mass Ibrahima Fall, insults against a police officer, and invasion of Ramz Yago's privacy. She admitted to the threats and public insults.
Rox explains that she went to Europe in 2011 and hosts live streams on TikTok. She also admits to using another account to view content from people who have blocked her. According to her, Narou, Jessica, and Ramz also use fake accounts for the same purpose.
Rox: "I rebelled."
Regarding Moustapha Dieng, nicknamed the "Desert Judge," Rox claims to have helped him with his legal proceedings while he was in Germany. She explains that he then began courting her. After she broke off contact with him, he allegedly started broadcasting live streams accusing her of paying people to denigrate other internet users.
Rox then addressed her dispute with Jessica. She explained that in 2023, while chatting in a WhatsApp group, Jessica had shared photos of her mother, who was diabetic and had lost a foot. She claims that her parents, who died on the same day within hours of each other (between noon and 2 p.m.), were subsequently subjected to insults in live streams.
According to her, Jessica made statements claiming she was a bad person and that her parents' deaths that same day were a consequence of this. She ended up crying on the stand.
She then mentions videos concerning Ramz. She claims that Kaliphone Sall had offered her images of Ramz. Rox maintains that she realized it was a trap. She admits to sending Ramz a single-view image after Ramz went to her mother's grave in the Yoff cemetery to insult her. "I didn't make the video public," she insists.
Ramz acknowledges the insults
Ramatoulaye Diaw, also known as "Ramz Yago," born in 1988, is being prosecuted for defamation via a computer system and the distribution of indecent images. She admits to having insulted Rox. She claims she acted in a fit of anger after discovering the distribution of her intimate images.
Rox, for her part, maintains that Ramz approached her because of her status as the breadwinner. She says she allowed him to sell his hair extensions during his live streams. But their relationship deteriorated after a disagreement. Rox claims that Ramz recorded one of their private conversations and then shared it with a third party. She says she then cut ties.
Alex Thiam, the most present absentee at the trial
Nafissatou Fall, also known as "Narou Karma," born in 1991, is being prosecuted for public insults. In court, she admitted to insulting Rox. She also admitted to having simulated, in a WhatsApp group, putting Rox's children in a mortar. Narou explained that she is friends with Jessica and participated in live streams with Awouskiti.
She also recounts an evening spent at Alex Thiam's home in Paris, during Wally Seck's Bercy concert, which was ultimately cancelled. She claims to have spent the night at Alex Thiam's house.
She also recounts discovering that her photo with her husband had been published by Domou Jolof, even though she claims to have only sent the photo to Rox. As her wedding approached, she says she called Rox to ask her to remove the picture.
Jessica and Anita's video
Khadidiatou Kébé, also known as "Jessica", born in 1981, is being prosecuted for criminal conspiracy with Ramz and Awouskiti, public insults against Rox and Senegalese people, and dissemination of a video concerning Saly Manga, also known as "Anita". She has admitted to the charges.
Jessica explains that she was in Paris when internet users accused her of having had a sexual relationship with Alex Thiam. In her defense, she claims to have sent Anita's intimate video to Serigne Bada. "It was just to justify myself," she maintains.
The plaintiff, represented by Diodio Sow, asserts that the victim was deeply distressed by the video's viral release. The judge reminds Jessica that she had invited Alex Thiam to a live stream to explain herself. He had then cleared her of any wrongdoing. However, during other live streams, when asked if he had had a relationship with Jessica, Alex Thiam allegedly replied that he would say "neither yes nor no." Jessica maintains that she did not intend to cause harm. She also claims that it was Alex Thiam who sent her the video of Anita.
The audio files played in court
The most shocking moment came with the playing of the incriminating audio recordings. Particularly violent remarks were heard. The exchanges between the protagonists, marked by insults and mutual accusations, created a tense atmosphere in the room. The statements attributed to Narou against Rox and her children, especially the accusations related to AIDS, shocked those present. Attorney El Hadj Diouf then requested that the passages implicating Rox be played.
Ramz's audio recordings were also listened to. In them, she allegedly called Rox a prostitute and used other offensive language.
A recording of Rox mentioning Von Djolof, whom she allegedly presented as someone she had recruited to insult internet users, was interviewed. This evidence appeared in the case file as part of the charge of criminal conspiracy.
Comments targeting Adji Mass were also broadcast. Rox claims to have retaliated after Adji Mass allegedly stated in a live stream that she had used a spell to make her return to Senegal.
Finally, an audio recording attributed to Jessica, in which she discusses the alleged sexual relationship between Anita and Alex Thiam, was also played. Its content caused considerable discomfort in the room.
Prosecutor Sow then reprimanded the defendants.
Although the protagonists had, at one point, withdrawn their complaints, the war reportedly resumed after the release of certain audio recordings.
Adji Mass is demanding 20 million CFA francs from Rox
According to lawyer Youssoupha Carmara, representing Adji Mass Guèye, Rox hurled insults at his client. She was traumatized and subjected to denigration between 2023 and 2026. Carmara is seeking 20 million CFA francs in damages.
Diodio Sow says that Anita has not withdrawn her civil suit. But she is not claiming damages.
Prosecutor Sow's scathing indictment
Returning to the facts, Prosecutor Sow recalled that it was Khadidiatou Kébé who had filed a complaint with the DSC against Rox. She stated that Rox had been insulting her on TikTok and paying individuals to do so. Hence Rox's complaint against her and Nafissatou Fall, also known as "Narou Karma".
After they were remanded in custody, Ramz Yago filed a complaint against Rox for defamation and invasion of privacy. Rox admitted to the acts before also filing a complaint against herself. Anita also filed a complaint against Jessica. Regarding the charge of disseminating images, the prosecutor requested Rox's acquittal.
Regarding the charge of conspiracy, the prosecution maintains that the offense is consistent across all defendants. Concerning the public insults, while emphasizing that a party's withdrawal is not an acquittal, Prosecutor Sow asserts that the prosecution defers to the court's judgment.
For the disclosure of personal data and distribution of images contrary to public morals, and death threats, the prosecutor is pushing hard for Rox.
Regarding the charge of insulting a group of people against Khadidiatou Kébé, the prosecution believes she is guilty.
Regarding the sentence, the prosecutor requested two years, one of which would be a prison term, for Rox; two years, six months of which would be a prison term, for Jessica; and two years, three months of which would be a prison term, for Narou and Ramz.
Defense plea
In Rox's defense, attorney Takha Cissé pleaded for leniency from the court, arguing that she had already suffered a social penalty. "One should never take a person's life or the possibility of becoming a better person," Victor Hugo said. "The possibility of becoming a better person is a sacred right that lies at the heart of social reintegration; otherwise, it's a descent into the original curse. Allow these women to become better by applying the law with compassion," pleaded Cissé, asking the judge to give Rox a chance at a new life.
Attorney Malick Mbengue argued that the statute of limitations had expired for Rox's actions concerning Adji Mass. Regarding the death threats, he deemed them unserious. As for the charge of insulting a police officer, Mr. Mbengue requested leniency in the application of the law.
Attorney Aboubacry Barro, representing Rox, pleaded for leniency. According to the lawyer, it is people like Kaliphone and Adamo who are manipulating the defendants. He stated that Adji Mass had not shown magnanimity by granting forgiveness. He reminded the court that he had defended her when she was arrested for the same offenses. "It's malicious," insisted Mr. Barro, for whom the prosecutor's indictment was harsh.
Attorney Alioune Sawaré also argued for Rox's acquittal on the charge of criminal conspiracy and for the reclassification of image distribution as illegal collection. Regarding the charge of insulting a police officer, Mr. Sawaré requested an acquittal. Concerning Adji Mass, he pleaded provocation.
Regarding the insults and obscene language, he pleaded for leniency. Attorney Sawarè clarified that if Rox is sentenced to one year in prison, she will lose custody of her children.
Attorney Arona Bass, representing Rox, argued that these were instantaneous offenses and maintained that the statute of limitations had expired. According to Bass, the case was a dispute over fire hydrants, and the sentence requested by the prosecutor was incomprehensible. He then requested leniency in the application of the penal code.
Attorney Ciré Clédor Ly, representing Rox, emphasized the importance of individual responsibility in this case. He asked the court not to follow the prosecution's arguments, which he felt were unconvincing from a legal standpoint. Attorney Ly criticized the procedure, citing Articles 620, 625, and 630 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. According to him, the prosecution cannot initiate proceedings once the parties have withdrawn their claims. Attorney Clédor argued for the nullity of the proceedings and demonstrated the statute of limitations for public prosecution. He then argued for the annulment of the official report.
For lawyer Khadim Kèbè, defending Ramz Yago, who is being prosecuted for public insults and obscene language, his client should not suffer the same fate as Narou. He argued that the alleged obscene language was not substantiated and pleaded for her acquittal.
Attorney Oumar Gaye, representing Ramz, argued that the defendants did not have the same degree of involvement. He cited the provisions of Article 262, paragraph 2, to assert that Ramz Yago could not be prosecuted. He pleaded for the dismissal of the charges related to the offenses of defamation and distribution of images. Attorney Ndiack Ba argued that Ramz Yango acted in defiance of provocation, claiming she acted after Rox leaked her nude photos.
Attorney Alphonse Faye, representing Jessica and Narou, addressed the charge of criminal conspiracy, arguing that this offense was not applicable in this case. Furthermore, he maintained that the prosecution should not have pursued the defamation charge after the defendants mutually withdrew their complaints. Attorney Faye requested an acquittal for his client. Regarding the charge of disclosing personal data against Anita, Attorney Faye also argued for Jessica's acquittal. He asked the court to dismiss her civil suit.
Finally, according to lawyer El Hadj Diouf, who concluded Jessica's arguments, the defendants should have gone home after the mutual withdrawals. But, Diouf alleges, the prosecution wanted to create a sensational case like the homosexual scandal, before being called to order by the judge.
Attorney Diouf ultimately argued for the dismissal of the case before calling the women crazy. The prosecutor countered by arguing that the statute of limitations had expired.
President Ndoye reprimanded the TikTokers before adjourning the case until Friday, September 18, 2026. The defense requested provisional release, which was rejected after opposition from the prosecution.
