scandale au MAE : Le cerveau du réseau et des fonctionnaires envoyés en prison, arrêt de rigueur pour les FDS
The alleged corruption scandal at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken a new turn. The public prosecutor at the Dakar court has entrusted the case to the senior investigating judge for the opening of a judicial inquiry. In his preliminary indictment, the head of the prosecutor's office cites the offenses of criminal conspiracy, forgery and use of forged official documents, and complicity in these crimes.
According to Seneweb, the presiding judge has charged several people involved in this far-reaching case. More than five defendants have been remanded in custody, including the alleged mastermind of the network, B. Sadio. Also among those charged are civil servants, a driver, and even a car washer, indicating the scale and diversity of this counterfeiting ring.
The sanctions are also affecting the defense and security forces involved in this operation. Two officers are currently under strict arrest, according to Seneweb sources.
However, some of those charged were not remanded in custody. A woman, described as the manager of a convenience store where forged documents were produced, was granted provisional release, as were two other individuals charged with complicity.
