Thiès : une histoire de femme, des coups et blessures et deux versions contradictoires
A. Fall and M. Guèye appeared before the Thiès court on Monday on charges of mutual assault and battery resulting in five days of temporary incapacity for work (ITT) for each of them. In court, the two defendants gave conflicting accounts of the circumstances of their altercation.
According to A. Fall, the dispute stemmed from threats Mr. Guèye had made against his wife. He claims he went to confront him to ask him to leave his wife alone. But,
He continued, saying the situation quickly escalated after Mr. Guèye insulted him before brandishing a knife and attempting to stab him. A. Fall maintains he retaliated, thus triggering a fight between the two men.
Mr. Guèye categorically denies this version of events. He accuses A. Fall's wife of regularly making snide remarks and insulting him. He claims that it was the couple who attacked and assaulted him, causing, among other things, an eye injury.
However, according to testimonies gathered in this case, the dispute stems from a love rivalry. Mr. Guèye is suspected of courting A. Fall's wife, a situation that ignited the conflict.
Faced with these conflicting accusations, the public prosecutor deferred to the application of the law.
The court has taken the case under advisement. The decision is expected on October 26, 2026.
