Vol de 100 millions FCFA : le rôle du fils du magistrat du Pool judiciaire financier
Seneweb had revealed that ML Sy, son of a magistrate in the Financial Judicial Pool, was not the perpetrator of the theft of 100 million CFA francs from A. Ndiaye. Citing sources familiar with the case, the news site specified that the young man would eventually admit to having lied when he claimed to have stolen the money supposedly belonging to his father.
Seneweb reported that A. Sarr was the perpetrator of the theft, adding that ML Sy, along with two other boys, S. Sall and SS Mbodji, was an accomplice.
What role did he play in the story? L'Observateur answers this question in its Monday edition: after stealing the 100 million, A. Sarr "immediately went to a local car dealership to buy a car. Lacking identification for the paperwork, he confided in his friend ML Sy [the magistrate's son] to borrow his ID to finalize the transaction. However, before the sale could be completed, the Anti-Crime Brigade (BLC) was alerted by an anonymous source to the suspicious behavior of the young men in a local parking lot. Police officers immediately arrived on the scene and arrested the young men, who were caught red-handed with a bag full of money."
The suspects were taken to the Urban Security unit. There, according to the daily newspaper of the Future Media Group, A. Sarr exonerated ML Sy: "I called him the day after the incident (Editor's note: Friday, the theft was committed on Thursday) to lend me his identity card so I could buy a car priced at 23,500,000 FCFA."
The newspaper reports that the main suspect, in order to justify the origin of the funds, initially claimed to have won at 1XBet. He later confessed.
"Students S. Sall and MM Mbadji were informed after the theft and each received an iPhone," adds L'Observateur.
