Météo : L'ANACIM annonce des pluies hors saison à partir de ce week-end, Dakar concernée
As announced a few days ago, the National Civil Aviation and Meteorology Agency (ANACIM) confirms the return of rain. Unseasonal rainfall, ranging from light to moderate intensity, is expected across much of the country from October 30th to November 2nd, gradually spreading westward and northward.
For Saturday, October 30, rainy activities are expected mainly in the regions of Ziguinchor, Sédhiou and Kolda, with possible extensions towards Tambacounda and the East of Koungheul.
For the East and Northeast, significant cloud cover could cause light rain in places, particularly in Matam, Bakel, Ranérou, Goudiry, Kidira, Kédougou and Kaffrine, during the evening and night.
The rains could reach the Centre-South (Nioro, Saloum islands, Fatick, Kaolack), then Mbour, Thiès, Louga, Linguère, Diourbel, Saint-Louis, Podor and some localities of Matam.
In Dakar, the sky will be cloudy with a risk of light rain. The risk is estimated at 15% this Saturday according to models.
From Sunday, November 1st to Monday, November 2nd, further rainfall, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms, is expected in the South and South-Central regions. Light rain will remain possible between Thiès and Dakar.
In view of the weather forecast, farmers and livestock breeders in the affected areas are advised to protect dry crops and fodder, and to avoid storing crops that are still wet.
