Musique : Alifa dévoile « La Patience », un premier opus aux sonorités mandingues et afrocontemporaines
Guinean singer Alifa will release his first studio album, "La Patience," this October. The ten tracks represent the culmination of several years of work and mark a new chapter for the artist, whose professional career began in 2020.
Born in 1991 in Conakry, he gradually made a name for himself with "Melekani", "Issanamindén" and "N'To Khonoma". These singles allowed him to lay the foundations of his universe before moving on to the album format.
In an interview with Seneweb, the artist openly announced that this release represents a special milestone for him. "This project is particularly important to me because it represents several years of work. I would like to please my fans who have supported me from the beginning and, above all, contribute to the growth of Guinean music," he confided.
He now wants to meet the expectations of his audience and hopes to be able to count on the support of sponsors in Guinea and the rest of Africa.
Between Mandinka roots and contemporary sounds
"La Patience" draws on a musical identity situated between Mandinka heritage and Afro-contemporary music. Rhythms inspired by Guinean heritage meet a more modern production, with the ambition of preserving the roots while opening the music to new audiences.
The ten tracks explore several themes: perseverance, love, humility, resilience, hope, and faith. The album title reflects a philosophy that accompanies the singer's journey: taking the time to build and move forward despite obstacles.
The project's completion spanned several years. Part of the work was carried out in Paris and Canada, with the participation of sound engineers, notably from Belgium. This international dimension reflects a desire to broaden the audience without abandoning Guinean identity.
To circulate a culture beyond borders
Beyond the release of "La Patience", the team is planning music videos, a digital campaign, a launch concert as well as stage appearances in the continuation of the project.
The issue is also cultural. By drawing on Mandinka sounds while adopting contemporary production codes, Alifa intends to contribute to making another expression of Guinean musical creation known to an African and international audience.
After several singles and six years of artistic development, "La Patience" should now allow Alifa to change scale, with a more complete work and an ambition that goes beyond the Guinean market alone.
