Music: Artist Oumy unveils Fleur d'Hibiscus, an EP blending emotion, identity, and international ambition

Senegalese singer Oumy Gueye, better known by her stage name OMG, is taking a new step in her musical journey with the release of her new EP, "Fleur d'Hibiscus" (Hibiscus Flower). Available on all streaming and download platforms, this project marks an artistic turning point for the artist, who now blends her Senegalese musical identity with a decidedly international vision.

Composed of seven tracks—Sama Khol, Motto, Addiction, No Bayi, 4 Avril 1960, Sur les plages de Saly, and Fleur d'Hibiscus—the EP tells an intimate story. It's the story of a woman who rises again, rebuilds herself, and celebrates self-love, resilience, and a deep connection to her roots. Each track represents a step on this personal journey, carried by contemporary melodies and deeply felt lyrics.

On an artistic level, Oumy embraces a musical evolution by exploring new sounds, without ever denying the cultural heritage that fuels her inspiration. This blend of modernity and Senegalese influences gives Fleur d'Hibiscus a unique identity, designed to appeal to both local audiences and international listeners.

This new project is produced by the British label Conscious Music Group, which the artist recently joined, and distributed by Warner Music Africa FR. It is the result of a collaboration between Oumy's production teams in Senegal and new partners based in France, demonstrating the international dimension her career is now taking on.

The release of "Fleur d'Hibiscus" coincides with an ongoing tour in Europe and the United Kingdom. This series of concerts illustrates Oumy's ambition to promote Senegalese music beyond its borders and gradually establish herself on major international stages.

With Fleur d'Hibiscus, Oumy delivers a sincere and audacious project, where the intimate meets the universal, confirming her desire to evolve her music while remaining deeply faithful to her identity.
