La Hadara Tijaniya en deuil : Idrissa Baldé s'est éteint, l'émouvant hommage de Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Chérif
The Hadara Tijaniya is in mourning. One of its fervent disciples, Idrissa Baldé, has passed away, causing deep emotion within the religious community and beyond.
In a tribute filled with emotion and spirituality, Sheikh Ahmed Tidiane Chérif recalled an encounter that profoundly changed his view of the deceased.
"Idrissa, someone we will never know," he said, echoing a famous phrase attributed to Serigne Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Sy Al Amine.
He recounts that several years ago, during a visit to a spiritual authority in Tivaouane, his interlocutor confided in him a striking story. According to this testimony, a person had seen Serigne Babacar Sy in a dream, telling him: "Idrissa nitu Yàlla la, ci awliya'i la bokk" ("Idrissa is a man of God, he is one of the saints of Allah").
This revelation profoundly transformed her perception of Idrissa Baldé.
"From that moment on, I no longer looked at him in the same way. I now felt the need to find him to give him the little money I had in my pocket, not out of charity, but out of respect and in search of a blessing," he confides.
But, he adds, Idrissa Baldé always seemed to elude me. "As if he had understood that his secret had just been revealed to me, it became almost impossible for me to meet him. And when, by chance, our paths crossed, he disappeared immediately, as if carried away by the wind."
According to Sheikh Ahmed Tidiane Chérif, on the rare occasions when the deceased accepted a gift, he never left without imparting a profound teaching. Among the advice that most deeply affected him was this recommendation in Wolof: "Lo am bokk ko ak say waajur, bul lekk muk bayi leen," urging one to always share their possessions with their parents before thinking of themselves.
He offered prayers for the repose of the deceased's soul: "Now that he has joined the celestial kingdom of saints, I pray to God to grant him the Most High Paradise alongside Serigne Babacar Sy, his marabout, as well as the illustrious awliyas of the Hadara Malikiya. My condolences to his biological family, his spiritual family, the entire Ummah, and the Senegalese people."
