Pays-Bas : l'ancien international Ronald Koeman frappé par un drame
Ronald Koeman is mourning the death of his wife, Bartina Koeman Boddeveld, at the age of 65. She passed away after a long battle with cancer.
The family of the former FC Barcelona player and coach announced the sad news. Since the beginning of his illness, Ronald Koeman had spoken several times, discreetly, about the treatments his wife was undergoing and their effects.
Before the last World Cup, when he was in charge of the Dutch national team, the coach had notably indicated that Bartina received treatment every Wednesday and then had to deal with several days of side effects.
Koeman had also mentioned his wish to see his wife attend the end of the competition if the Netherlands managed to reach the final and if his health allowed it.
Ronald and Bartina Koeman had shared their lives for several decades. The couple had three children: Tim, Debbie, and Ronald.
Bartina Koeman Boddeveld's passing comes after several years during which she was supported by her loved ones in her fight against illness.
