Accueilli en héros par ses partisans : Les premiers mots de Maodo Malick Mbaye après sa libération provisoire !
After being granted provisional release under judicial supervision, the former director general of the National Agency for the House of Tools (ANAMO), Maodo Malick Mbaye, returned to Thiès. Initially scheduled for Monday, August 17, his return was ultimately postponed to the following day due to heavy rains that fell on the railway city.
On Tuesday evening, many friends, relatives, activists and supporters were waiting for him. They accompanied him to his home in Cité Lamy, in a procession that wound its way through the main streets of Thiès.
Faced with this mobilization, Maodo Malick Mbaye sought to downplay the festive nature of the welcome. "What we are organizing today may have a festive air, but it is neither a victory to celebrate, much less a triumphalism to demonstrate. It is simply a matter of giving thanks to God, the one who is the master of destinies," he declared.
He specifically mentioned July 22, 2025, the date on which he was placed under a detention order. "The master of destinies had decided that I would take leave of my family and friends to be placed under a detention order," he recalled.
In a message filled with gratitude, the former head of ANAMO continued: “Alhamdulillah Rabbil Alamina! This day for me is a day of grace, a day of gratitude, a day of love. You have shown me today that gratitude is a divine attribute. We sometimes owe it to each other to be grateful.”

Returning to his legal case, Maodo Malick Mbaye stressed that his provisional release stems from the same procedure that led to his placement under a detention order.
“It was the justice system that detained me through Article 140 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. It was this same justice system that ruled that, in light of this same article, I could be granted provisional freedom. So, let us thank God!” he explained.
The former director general of ANAMO finally called on his loved ones to continue praying for the outcome of the legal proceedings. "Please don't forget me in your prayers. Pray that what binds us to the justice system today may be resolved with a dismissal of the case and that I may be exonerated," he concluded.
