ASER case: Amadou Ba responds sharply to Thierno Alassane Sall

Affaire ASER : Amadou Ba répond sèchement à Thierno Alassane Sall

The controversy surrounding the ASER affair continues. Following the statement by MP Thierno Alassane Sall denouncing what he considers to be a desire by the Pastef majority to "suppress" the case, his Pastef colleague, Amadou Ba, gave him a particularly firm response.

In a statement, the MP reiterated that the ASER case is now in the hands of the Financial Judicial Pool. According to him, the ongoing legal proceedings are preventing the National Assembly from establishing a parliamentary commission of inquiry into the matter.

“The ASER case now falls exclusively under the jurisdiction of the Financial Judicial Pool,” argues Amadou Ba, citing the organic law governing the internal regulations of the National Assembly. He asserts that this law “formally prohibits members of parliament from creating a commission of inquiry into a matter that is pending before the courts.”

The parliamentarian also rejects accusations of a cover-up. According to him, the Financial Judicial Pool has decided to consolidate the various complaints and proceedings related to the case and intends to hear from all parties involved.

Amadou Ba therefore invites Thierno Alassane Sall to take note of the press release issued by the Financial Judicial Pool and to let justice take its course.

The reply then becomes more political. "The justice system has taken away your only argument as an opponent," the Pastef deputy tells his colleague, before inviting him to "wait patiently" for the court's verdict.

Amadou Ba concludes with a particularly offensive statement, believing that Thierno Alassane Sall will now have to "find a new carrot to exist politically".

The ASER case therefore continues to fuel the political tug-of-war between the majority and the opposition, while the legal proceedings continue.
