The Sunu 37 Billion Collective remains furious. While a judicial investigation is underway in the ASER case, its members strongly disapprove of the parliamentary inquiry. They directly accuse Ousmane Sonko of trying to shift the debate to avoid addressing the questions surrounding this case.
"Blinded by his own impulse to the point of sacrificing the national interest, Ousmane Sonko never hesitates to sacrifice the honor of the National Assembly, the Sunu 37 billion Collective regrets this observation which it shares with all Senegalese.
"After having claimed far and wide that the director general of ASER had nothing to reproach himself for, then publicly declaring that the rural electrification program had been blocked for two years by Thierno Alassane Sall, Ousmane Sonko is now trying to shift the debate," the collective denounces.
Its members believe that a parliamentary commission cannot replace the justice system, much less obstruct its work. They maintain that the Senegalese people primarily expect clear answers regarding the 37 billion CFA francs involved in this case.
“This situation is all the more worrying given that Senegal and its institutions cannot function according to the political interests of Ousmane Sonko, whose initiatives are clearly aimed at obstructing the proper functioning of the country and the pursuit of truth. The Sunu 37 Billion Collective will not be fooled by this new way of circumventing the truth. The Senegalese people expect precise answers regarding the 37 billion CFA francs involved in this affair, and not political maneuvers designed to divert their attention from the essential issues,” the collective asserts.
The group goes further by accusing the president of the National Assembly of wanting to use his parliamentary majority as an instrument of diversion, after what it presents as an unsuccessful attempt to exploit the Intermaq case to discredit Seydou Kane.
In the same vein, he believes that Ousmane Sonko and his former Minister of Agriculture, Mabouba Diagne, should themselves expect to be heard on the ASER case, but also on the issue of agricultural subsidies, the funds of which, according to his accusations, were irregularly deposited in a local bank instead of the public treasury.
"Why wait until today to call for a parliamentary commission?"
The Sunu 37 Billion Collective also questioned the Prime Minister about the timing of this initiative. According to the collective, Ousmane Sonko had nearly two years in office to fully investigate this matter. "Why wait until now to launch a parliamentary commission, when questions about the 37 billion remain unanswered?" they asked.
Denouncing an attempt to turn the ASER case into a political battle, the collective insists on the need to let justice establish responsibility based on facts and evidence. "The Sunu 37 Billion Collective refuses to allow the truth about the ASER affair to be sacrificed on the altar of political calculations. The Senegalese people have a right to truth, transparency, and accountability. The 37 billion must neither be forgotten nor disappear behind a parliamentary smokescreen," the collective insists, demanding transparency, truth, and accountability.

Pourquoi Sonko a voulu protéger Jean Michel Sene ?
