Aldiouma Sow à Ousmane Sonko : « Le rejet d’un texte budgétaire vital est une hypocrisie flagrante»
The battle surrounding the vote on the 2026 supplementary budget law (LFR) has escalated into open political confrontation. In a highly critical opinion piece titled "The Guru's Mask Finally Falls," Aldiouma Sow, a member of Kiiraay - The Republican Patriots, condemns the decision announced by the President of the National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko, not to vote for the LFR. He also accuses the Pastef leader of prioritizing his personal interests over the concerns of the Senegalese people and warns of the economic and social consequences of a potential blockage of the budget bill.
According to Aldiouma Sow, the announcement of the refusal to vote on the Finance Law is not a surprise. "Since the beginning, last June, delaying tactics have multiplied to postpone its submission to the National Assembly," he writes.
According to the official within Kiiraay, "this irresponsible stance demonstrates the total contempt of the leader of the messianic faction for the distress of Senegalese citizens."
"Indeed, everyone knows that his action is motivated solely by a personal motive, namely to satisfy a resentment stemming from his dismissal from the prime ministership for incompetence, insufficient results and a lack of republican loyalty," he explained.
For the coordinator of the presidential coalition, rejecting this "vital budget text is hypocritical," stressing that such a blockage "would expose thousands of households to non-payment of wages and precipitate businesses towards bankruptcy and economic layoffs."
"By choosing to sabotage institutions while disregarding the fate of civil servants and entrepreneurs, he confirms that the general interest is foreign to him. He is a selfish man!" he asserts.
Aldiouma Sow, however, recalled that "the solidity of our institutional architecture, based on the sacrosanct principle of the balance of powers which gives the Executive prerogatives to overcome any attempt at parliamentary paralysis and preserve the continuity of the State."
Finally, according to the minister-advisor, Ousmane Sonko's call for dialogue "is nothing but political posturing to buy time so he can plot his next attack against universal suffrage." But "the Republic will prevail," he concluded.
