Amadou Ba : « Scandaleuse, cette minorité de la société civile qui veut enterrer le scandale "Un étudiant, un ordinateur'"
Pastef MP Amadou Ba is attacking a segment of civil society, which he refers to as a "minority." He accuses them of wanting to "bury" the alleged scandal surrounding the "One Student, One Computer" program.
On Facebook, the parliamentarian wrote: “Under the pretext of the seriousness of the acts of mismanagement uncovered during the hearings of the National Assembly's inquiry committee, this member of so-called civil society already wants to bury the scandal by transferring it to the OFNAC (National Office for the Fight Against Fraud and Corruption) and the judicial prosecutor's office. He wants to deny the National Assembly's constitutional authority to conduct inquiry committees to their conclusion and to transfer the findings to the prosecutor.”
He also accuses certain civil society actors of having "torpedoed" the National Assembly and Pastef under Macky Sall's regime. "These people never highlighted a single act of corruption during Macky Sall's 12 years in power. Constantly undermining the National Assembly and Pastef to obtain minor positions from President Diomaye, their deceptive tactics are now known to all Senegalese. They are on a mission, but their noise will have no effect," the parliamentarian asserts.
The MP insists that the commissions of inquiry will "see their conclusion," while promising that the Senegalese people will be informed of their findings. He also affirms that those identified as being involved in any embezzlement will be transferred to the prosecutor.
