Assemblée Nationale : « Nous n'avons pas peur », prévient Guy Marius Sagna
Reacting to those he accuses of wanting to exert "terrorist" pressure on the National Assembly of Senegal, MP Guy Marius Sagna was keen to express his firm opposition.
He reminds us that "terrorism is the use of terror in politics" and that it will not succeed.
The elected representative firmly maintains his position, believing that attempts at intimidation will have no impact on their actions. Referring to the history of their political struggle, he recalls the evolution of their power dynamic within the National Assembly to emphasize the consistency of their commitment. "When we only had one representative (Sonko), we weren't afraid."
This determination remained intact through alliances and trials, as he emphasizes when recalling the period when they formed the Yewwi Askan Wi parliamentary group. "When we were the Yewwi Askan Wi parliamentary group, we were not afraid even after betrayals."
Today, the group's political base has changed considerably, with both the opposition and the ruling party now holding 130 out of 165 seats. Confident in this position of strength, Guy Marius Sagna dismisses any idea of retreat, concluding, "It's not now that we have 130 out of 165 seats that you'll be able to frighten us."
