Contrôle parlementaire : Le Forum civil salue la création des commissions d’enquête
On Thursday, August 20, 2026, the National Assembly ratified six draft resolutions establishing commissions of inquiry dedicated to sensitive cases. The Civil Forum welcomes this initiative, which it considers a step forward in terms of transparency, accountability, and the fight against corruption.
In a statement released on Thursday, October 8, 2026, the organization believes that this initiative marks "a real desire to activate institutional control mechanisms to promote accountability, transparency and the fight against corruption."
The civil society organization also welcomes the live broadcast of the committee proceedings, which it considers "major tools in the fight against corruption." It believes that these broadcasts "guarantee the effective exercise of citizens' right to information regarding the management of their public assets, whether financial or material."
The commissions focus in particular on the state's built heritage, the "One student, one computer" program, land and the public maritime domain, fishing licenses, taxation as well as the financial arrangement known as "Total Return Swap" of 650 million euros.
Indicating that it had already published statements calling for transparency in each of these cases, the Civil Forum "congratulates the members of the National Assembly for this exemplary initiative" and proposes that the investigations be extended "to the conditions of acquisition of the vehicles of the National Assembly as well as to the management of the vehicle fleet taken care of by the National Office for the Recovery of Criminal Assets (ONRAC)".
According to the organization, the scope of the investigations covers several sectors of public governance, including debt, public revenue, public procurement, fisheries resources and land and property management.
