Crise interne à PASTEF : Le Dg de Dantec, Mansour Diop claque la porte et dénonce une « gestion clanique »
In a scathing open letter addressed to Ousmane Sonko, president of PASTEF-Les Patriotes, on July 22, 2026, El Hadji Mansour Diop, Director General of Aristide Le Dantec Hospital, officially announced his dramatic resignation from the party. Having exhausted all internal avenues of appeal, this active member of the National Movement of Patriotic Executives (MONCAP) breaks his silence and delivers a scathing indictment of the mismanagement within the party president's inner circle.
For this executive from the academic world, the break is total. Having returned to political life after ten years of withdrawal to embrace the PASTEF project, El Hadji Mansour Diop affirms that he was seduced by the triptych ''Jub-Jubbal-Jubbanti'' which he considered an ethic of governance and not a simple slogan.
However, his assessment today is bitter. He openly denounces the fact that the original values of radical change and integrity have been supplanted by "personal agendas" and "clan-based management." According to him, the lobbying phenomenon that Ousmane Sonko denounced during the establishment of the National Council in July 2025 has now firmly "taken refuge within his own circle."
Censorship, purges on WhatsApp, and denial of democracy at the grassroots level
The final straw came on July 16, 2026. Following a cabinet meeting, the clinician was abruptly removed from the MONCAP Health and Social Protection working group by Commissioner Ousmane Cissé, without any verification or request for explanation. This decision was described as a "settling of scores" aimed at silencing internal dissent.
Mr. Diop, however, emphasizes the strength of his recent commitment, citing up-to-date membership cards and dues, as well as training provided in the field as recently as the beginning of July. He also highlights a major democratic dysfunction within the Mbam communal section (Foundiougne department). In crisis since 2022 and managed by a steering committee following successive resignations, the section was allegedly bypassed entirely during the congress of June 6, 2026. Unofficial bodies reportedly appointed former resigning members or officials who had suspended their activities to represent the commune, disregarding the minutes that had been duly submitted.
What is striking in El Hadj Mansour Diop's letter is the contrast between his personal commitment and the treatment he received. His humanitarian and logistical record is significant. This includes the voluntary treatment of numerous people injured during the demonstrations at his own clinic and medical transfers to Dakar; the provision of medication and monthly food aid to political prisoners during a scabies outbreak; and the mobilization of his own ambulance in May 2023 for the "Caravan of Freedom," a vehicle that was subsequently seized without any support from the party.
The resigning official denounced the active censorship within the health branch, citing in particular the removal of a 400,000 FCFA donation from official reports. He also lamented that MONCAP Santé had abandoned its mission of scientific analysis in favor of informal management, urging Ousmane Sonko to entrust these responsibilities to "men whose integrity is beyond question."
The last straw…
“The party for which I gave everything no longer corresponds to the one I joined. My withdrawal without valid reason, which occurred the very day after an activity that I myself had financed for the party, was the final straw in the face of a resilience that was severely tested,” reveals El Hadji Mansour Diop.
It is with these words that the health professional concludes his adventure within the Pastef-Les-Patriotes party, regretting a culture of ingratitude that has become "the most shared thing within the party".
