Déclaration de patrimoine : Babacar Ba plaide pour l'application rigoureuse des sanctions contre les défaillants
Babacar Ba, president of the forum of the litigant, spoke about the implementation of the regulatory framework governing the declaration of assets in Senegal, praising the work carried out by the National Office for the Fight against Fraud and Corruption (OFNAC).
Speaking following the publication of the provisional list of those subject to the regulations, he stressed the need to accelerate the process as soon as the document is officially released. According to him, the transition from a provisional list to a final list must be accompanied by uncompromising rigor towards non-compliant entities.
"Once the provisional list becomes final, we must follow the logic to its conclusion, without hesitation: those who fail to comply must be subject to the administrative, financial and criminal sanctions provided for," he stated.
To support his call to action, Babacar Ba relies on Law No. 2025-13 of September 3, 2025 relating to the declaration of assets, specifically targeting Articles 13 and 16. These legal provisions outline the range of sanctions applicable to public officials or agents subject to this obligation of financial transparency.
Congratulating the anti-corruption oversight body for the measures already taken, Mr. Ba hailed it as a key step in strengthening the country's institutions. "We extend our warmest congratulations to OFNAC for this measure, which represents a significant advance in the fight against illicit enrichment."
