Demandes d'explication à 179 agents : Lansana Gagny Sakho défend la décision du ministre Dianté
Dr. Lansana Gagny Sakho, a member of the presidential party Kiraay-The Republican Patriots, commented on the decision by the Minister of Labour, Mamadou Lamine Dianté, to issue requests for explanations to 179 agents of his department who were absent from their posts the day after the Grand Magal of Touba.
Invited to "La Matinale" on Even Prod media, the chairman of the board of directors of APIX-SA indicated that this measure falls within the scope of normal administrative management. "This is a normal management act and not a settling of scores," he declared.
According to him, any manager, in the public or private sector, has the right to demand an explanation from an employee who is absent without authorization. "What Minister Dianté did is what any business leader would have done, it's what you would have done in the private sector," he insisted.
He reminded everyone that public holidays are clearly defined and that any absence must be justified or requested in advance. "If you think you can't come to work on Monday because it's the day after the Magal, ask for leave, an unpaid day off. We'll grant it to you. But you can't stay, not come to work, and then ask to be paid. The country is organized. We know the public holidays. They are clearly listed," he explained.
Lansana Gagny Sakho also denounced attempts to politicize the Minister of Labor's decision. "I've seen people saying that Mamadou Lamine Dianté is against the Mourides. That's not true. And it's a shame. Unfortunately, we're in a cycle of manipulation in this country on a permanent basis," he declared, recalling that Dianté himself had participated in the Magal before resuming his duties.
When questioned about the breakdown of the state and its effectiveness, Dr. Sakho believes the key lies elsewhere: "The key is choosing the right people. You don't learn how to work by being a director general. There are positions that require a profession, knowledge, and experience. Unfortunately, we have skipped so many steps in certain cases, because of politicization," he argued, welcoming, in this context, the upcoming second edition of the Conference of Public Administrators and Managers.
According to him, this is an important initiative that will improve the quality of public service and strengthen the effectiveness of public policies.
Referring to the layoffs that have occurred in certain public institutions, notably at SNHLM and the Grand Théâtre, the Chairman of the Board of APIX-SA calls for caution. "We must all be very vigilant, avoid what is called manipulation. These two ministers spoke about it because they are trying to discredit the new government."
According to him, these adjustments made after certain dismissal decisions demonstrate a more attentive governance, more willing to correct its mistakes. He also indicated that similar, or even more severe, practices already existed under the previous regime, particularly at the BOS and the CDC, without provoking such a strong reaction.
Finally, Lansana Gagny Sakho advocated for the professionalization of trades and better use of Senegalese skills.
"Today, you have excellent Senegalese who have left, even though they are needed in other countries, and we don't know how to use them," he concluded.

Pourquoi controller maintenant bien que ce soit bon tous les jours. Je vois un président très jeune qui a des difficultés à maîtriser ses pulsions. Dommage d'avoir mis un gamin à ce poste. Nous sommes en danger.
