Diourbel : Les maires de Kiiraay exigent devant Mimi Touré la dissolution de l'Assemblée nationale
Aminata Touré, general supervisor of Kiiraay–The Republican Patriots, visited the commune of Patar, where Mayor Adiou Sène was holding a political meeting with several of his counterparts from the Diourbel department. At this meeting, the elected officials called for the dissolution of the National Assembly, a message intended for President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and entrusted to Mimi Touré.
Speaking first, Adiou Sène asserted that the department's electorate was "secure," adding that "if you remove eight mayors, there's nothing left." According to him, Diourbel had become "a shield alongside President Diomaye, behind Ms. Mimi." He then attacked the National Assembly, which he accused of "demeaning the country."
"We must intervene quickly, because a country requires a certain way of functioning. When someone doesn't know their place, we tie their hands," he said.
On behalf of the eight mayors of the department, he demanded the dissolution of the institution "as soon as possible." Acknowledging that the head of state is "a stickler for the law," he asked him, "if the circumstances allow," to follow through on what has been said. He concluded by expressing his "outrage" and affirming that the stability of the country is "a duty for every citizen."
The coordinator of the eight mayors who joined Kiiraay, for his part, offered "strengthened support" for the peace advocated by the President of the Republic. He noted that, since the return of this peace, "donors continue to finance investments in Senegal."
Aminata Touré warmly greeted the elected officials present, in particular Adiou Sène, and specified that she was accompanied by two mayors from her delegation.
She made a point of mentioning these mayors of the department who have joined the presidential movement: Dr Moussa Thiaw (Tocky Gare), Ibra Kane (Touré Mbonde), Serigne Modou Ngom (Ngohé), Ablaye Sène (Ndankh Sène), Serigne Modou Fall (Keur Ngalgou), Serigne Khadim Mbacké (Touba Lappé) and Khadim Sèye (Taïba Moutoupha).
She finally praised the approach of the head of state, who advocates peace "with firmness and dignity, working for the country without grand speeches," which she described as "the serene strength of the country."
