Doutes sur le patrimoine de Sonko : Amadou Ba (Pastef) répond à Aldiouma Sow
Following Aldiouma Sow's questions about Ousmane Sonko's assets, MP Amadou Ba stepped forward to defend the National Assembly President's property. In a scathing post, the parliamentarian turned the accusation back on his critics and invited them to file a complaint with OFNAC (the National Office for the Fight Against Fraud and Corruption) if they had evidence.
Amadou Ba puts forward a fundamental argument. He points out that OFNAC, in its reformed form passed by the Pastef parliamentary majority, now has "the broadest possible investigative powers" to verify the accuracy, completeness, and authenticity of any asset declaration. According to him, the institution also benefits from "a range of highly dissuasive sanctions against false declarations."
“If Ousmane Sonko owns houses under the sea and bank accounts on the moon, send the documents to OFNAC, and quickly,” the MP declared, his tone a mixture of irony and defiance. He concluded, “Ousmane Sonko’s greatest strength is letting his slanderous opponents build sandcastles, and then, with a single, devastating wave, disintegrate them into crushed, sifted dust scattered to the four corners of the earth.”
