DPG : Le ministre Idrissa Samb salue la prestation d’Alhaminou Lô et réaffirme l'objectif de 1,5 million d'emplois
Following Prime Minister Ahmadou Alhaminou Lô's General Policy Statement, the Minister of Employment, Vocational and Technical Training, Idrissa Samb, commended the Prime Minister's performance. In an official statement, the Minister reaffirmed his department's commitment to implementing the strategic vision championed by President Bassirou Diomaye Faye through the "Senegal 2050" agenda. "On this momentous day for Senegalese democracy, I extend my warmest congratulations to Prime Minister Ahmadou Alhaminou Lô for the mastery, vision, and clarity of expression he demonstrated in his General Policy Statement before the National Assembly," declared Idrissa Samb. According to him, this major republican exercise made it possible to unveil the government's project with force and precision, illustrating in passing "the vitality of our institutions" and reaffirming "the dignity of our Republic".
For the Ministry of Employment, Vocational and Technical Training, the General Policy Statement (DPG) sets clear strategic directions to achieve the goal of creating 1,520,000 jobs. “As the Ministry of Employment, Vocational and Technical Training (MEFPT), we are fully committed to translating this vision into concrete results, by realizing the ambitious goal of creating 1,520,000 jobs by the timeframe defined by the Senegal 2050 Vision,” stated Idrissa Samb. This trajectory relies on priority sectoral levers that generate opportunities, namely agricultural cooperatives with 113,000 jobs, artisanal fishing with 60,000 jobs, the housing and living environment sector with 50,000 jobs, and regional agropoles designed to produce 45,000 jobs. In addition, there are the cultural and creative industries with 33,000 jobs, the legacy of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games with 27,000 jobs, the dairy and poultry sectors with 22,000 jobs, aquaculture with 18,000 jobs and renewable energies with 16,000 jobs.
Beyond the direct creation of jobs, the minister returned to the issue of youth employability, which he described as "an absolute priority for the Government." He reiterated that the ministerial roadmap "aims to train 700,000 technicians by 2029." To achieve this goal, the State intends to rely on dual vocational training to "equip young people with the necessary skills adapted to the demands of the job market." In conclusion, Idrissa Samb emphasized the essential synergy needed to realize these collective ambitions. "The realization of these fundamental objectives requires a strong State, fully empowered with its sovereign resources, supported by a bold, dynamic, and competitive national private sector. It is through this synergy of actions that we will build the sovereign, just, and prosperous Senegal to which the Senegalese people aspire," he stressed.
