Gouvernement-Assemblée : la querelle sur le Budget agite les marchés financiers
Despite the lack of agreement between the government and Pastef MPs on the 2026 supplementary budget bill, financial markets are displaying cautious optimism. Le Soleil notes a gradual rise in Senegalese bond prices, which climbed from 50 cents at the beginning of the week to 51-52 cents on Tuesday, October 27, and then to 52-53 cents the following day.
This rebound was driven by reassuring statements from Prime Minister Ahmadou Al Aminou Mouhamadou Lô, who anticipates a swift resolution. According to a specialist from a London investment bank, quoted by the national daily newspaper, these movements reflect investors' bet on a way out of the crisis, encouraged by the referral of the text back to committee and the continuation of dialogue with the IMF.
