« Il a trahi la jeunesse » : La sortie cash de Serigne Habib Sy Dabakh sur la séparation entre Diomaye et Sonko
During a visit to Tivaouane, Ousmane Sonko, President of the National Assembly and leader of Pastef, was received this Sunday by the religious leader Serigne Habib Sy Dabakh. During this meeting, the marabout announced his official membership in Pastef.
Beyond this endorsement, Serigne Habib Sy Dabakh offered a highly critical analysis of the current political situation in Senegal. According to him, the country has " regressed 20 years ." Using the image of the "broom" often employed in political discourse, he declared: " The broom we were talking about, instead of sweeping away the garbage, is sweeping it in. " He clarified, however, that he was not targeting anyone in particular, leaving it to each individual to decide whether or not to take responsibility.
The religious leader also asserts that no one can distort his thoughts or prevent him from expressing himself. He says he is aware of his role as a religious leader, which includes working for unity, but believes that this mission does not prevent him from speaking what he considers to be the truth.
" I observe a consistency in Sonko."
Serigne Habib Sy Dabakh also praised Ousmane Sonko's "consistency" since he began following his public pronouncements. He stated that he had watched his latest special interview in its entirety, an interview that generated considerable public discussion. Contrary to some critics of this interview, the religious leader believes that the Pastef leader delivered a very strong performance.
“ We love Senegal and we want peace in this country ,” he said, believing that he had observed, through Sonko’s various speeches, efforts aimed at preserving peace and stability.
However, he believes that peace cannot be lasting without justice. He therefore warned against any manipulation of institutions and defense and security forces for political ends.
" We must not use the justice system, the army and law enforcement to fight people ," he insisted, calling on the authorities to avoid threats and power struggles.
He also urged law enforcement not to be manipulated or to intimidate citizens for political reasons. " This country belongs to all of us ," he insisted, calling on those in charge to consider the consequences of their actions and the final judgment.
An appeal to Sonko and his collaborators
In his address, Serigne Habib Sy Dabakh also urged Ousmane Sonko and his associates not to accept being taken hostage or enslaved. " Things have changed ," he warned, clarifying that, in his view, this was a warning to the authorities and not a threat.
The religious leader also used the "VAR" phenomenon to invite Senegalese people to compare past and present statements by political leaders.
A direct message to Bassirou Diomaye Faye
A large part of his speech was devoted to the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye. While offering his greetings and wishing the Head of State peace, Serigne Habib Sy Dabakh expressed regret over the political split between Diomaye Faye and Ousmane Sonko. According to him, the President of the Republic must return to the fundamental principles that enabled Pastef to come to power.
“ If it had been my will, he wouldn’t have separated from Sonko ,” he declared, believing that Bassirou Diomaye Faye became president thanks in particular to Ousmane Sonko and the Pastef activists. He then invited him to revisit his past statements using VAR (Video Assistant Referee) to assess the evolution of certain rhetoric.
Serigne Habib Sy Dabakh also calls on the head of state to come to his senses and reconnect with his former Pastef colleagues in order, he says, to move the country forward.
“ Diomaye has betrayed the youth.”
The religious leader then expressed his compassion for Senegalese youth, whom he believes are disappointed by the current political situation. " Diomaye has betrayed the youth. He has betrayed the will of those who elected him ," he stated, before calling on young people to take their destiny into their own hands and not let anyone hold them hostage.
He also spoke out against what he considers political score-settling and dismissals linked to political affiliations or disagreements. " What is happening now is no longer about politics. I thought that a worker couldn't be dismissed unless they had committed a serious offense. Today, people are being dismissed from the administration because they don't share the same political views as the President of the Republic. This is unacceptable ," the religious leader declared indignantly.
In the final part of his speech, Serigne Habib Sy Dabakh denounced what he called a rise in lies, insults, and defamation in public debate. " What I see in Senegal right now is no longer politics ," he declared, arguing that certain attitudes stem more from malice and a desire to harm than from genuine political confrontation.
Fully embracing his position, he declared: " Some will say that I am playing politics, but I stand by it. Here in Senegal, everyone is involved in politics. I am not hiding my position. "
The religious leader finally offered prayers for Ousmane Sonko and his associates, asking God to protect them and grant them peace.

Un sénégalais, et qui se dit musulman, impose à son peuple le choix entre accepter de renoncer au programme pour lequel il a voté ou de souffrir pendant 5 ans au minimum. C'est à prendre ou à prendre. Et si pas content, il existe le suicide.

Certaines paroles frisent malheureusement l’impolitesse, l’arrogance et surtout un manque de retenue. On peut être en désaccord avec le Président de la République, le critiquer et même dénoncer sa politique, mais traiter le chef de l’État de « traître » est une accusation extrêmement grave et indigne de la responsabilité morale que l’on prétend incarner.
Être fils de marabout ne donne à personne un permis d’insulter, d’humilier ou de manquer de respect aux institutions de la République. Le statut familial impose au contraire davantage de sagesse, de mesure et de responsabilité dans les propos.
S’il existe des frustrations ou des différends au sein de sa propre famille, qu’il commence par les régler chez lui au lieu de les projeter sur la scène publique.
Le Sénégal a besoin de débats lucides, responsables et respectueux, pas de discours dictés par la frustration ou l’arrogance. L’héritage de Serigne Abdoul Aziz Dabakh mérite mieux que cela.

Franchement, tu aurais dû t’abstenir de t’exprimer dans les médias de cette manière et de tenir de telles critiques. Certaines paroles, surtout lorsqu’elles viennent d’un fils d’une grande famille religieuse, doivent être mesurées et empreintes de respect et de responsabilité.
Tu n’as pas honoré l’héritage et la dignité de la famille Sy. Bien au contraire, tes propos risquent de porter atteinte à l’image et au respect que beaucoup de Sénégalais vouent à cette illustre famille.
Je le dis avec beaucoup de tristesse : je suis déçu, très déçu. J’aurais espéré davantage de retenue, de sagesse et de responsabilité de la part d’un fils de Serigne Abdoul Aziz Sy.
Opposition et Kirray doivent changer de stratégie sinon le réveil sera brutal !
