« Il est peut-être temps pour eux… » : le conseil de Alioune Tine à Diomaye et Sonko
Since Ousmane Sonko was ousted from the Prime Minister's office and took over as Speaker of the National Assembly, the executive branch and the legislative branch seem to be engaged in a dynamic of confrontation.
On Tuesday, the Constitutional Council declared inadmissible the bill proposed by the Pastef parliamentary group concerning the regulation of special funds. For Alioune Tine, it is now time for the Head of State and the President of the National Assembly to bury the hatchet.
"Perhaps it is time for the two main institutions of the country and the two leaders who embody them, namely the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, and Ousmane Sonko, to engage in dialogue and find common ground to get out of this confrontation which has no interest for the country," Alioune Tine wrote on X.
According to the president of Afrikajom Center, this antagonism between the two men, if not stopped, will only weaken the country and its institutions, depreciate the image of Senegal and annihilate any effort in favor of its economic and social development.
