Investissement, emploi et croissance : Les propositions que la Confédération des employeurs du Sénégal a posées sur la table du Pr. Diomaye
This Friday, a delegation from the National Confederation of Employers of Senegal (CNES) was received in audience by the President of the Republic. Abib Diop, the First Vice-President of the employers' organization, outlined the proposals they had submitted to the Head of State.
“Proposals have been made regarding investment, growth, and employment. Discussions will continue with the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance to define the implementation details of these proposals,” he revealed. These contributions have been submitted to the Head of State to help restart the economic engine.
Indeed, on June 18th, the CNES (National Confederation of Employers) took to the airwaves to raise the alarm and call on the country's authorities. "Our major companies are on their knees, our SMEs are in a practically indescribable situation, our workers are in an unqualifiable state of precarity," warned Abdel Kader Ndiaye, President of the employers' organization.
He and his colleagues had drawn the authorities' attention to the unresolved domestic debt that was suffocating their treasuries, a very turbulent social climate in their companies due to the State's failure to respect its commitments in the national social stability pact, a risk of institutional instability, major tax and customs methods carried out without prior consultation, and a tax burden that had become unsustainable for the informal sector.
