« Le parti ne se fera pas en un jour » : Me Abdoulaye Tine lance la grande refondation de la coalition Diomaye Président
, on the occasion of the media launch ceremony of his future political formation, organized this Saturday, July 25, 2026. In front of political leaders, members of the government, activists and supporters, he retraced the path taken from the birth of the coalition to its transformation into a political party intended to last.
In a speech with militant overtones, Abdoulaye Tine recalled that the Diomaye President coalition was born from a popular aspiration for justice, sovereignty, employment, and better governance. According to him, this movement was never simply an electoral gathering, but rather "a rallying cry" launched by Senegalese determined to take their destiny into their own hands. Looking back on the 2024 presidential campaign, he asserted that the coalition had won a battle that many considered impossible against a firmly entrenched system.
“We had a weapon they did not have: the truth. We had a strength they could not buy: the people,” he said, praising the mobilization of young people, women, workers, farmers, fishermen and traders who contributed to the election of President Bassirou Diomaye Faye in the first round with 54.58% of the votes.
For Abdoulaye Tine, this electoral victory was only the first step. "The conquest of power is only worthwhile for the transformation it enables," he stated, emphasizing that fulfilling the commitments made to the Senegalese people now requires a solid and lasting political organization. He referred to the mission statement of November 11, 2025, which he considers a strategic turning point in the structuring of the coalition.
This step, he explained, enabled the transformation of the coalition into a sustainable political organization capable of supporting the promised reforms. The speaker also recalled the General Assembly of March 7, 2026, which he described as a pivotal moment. This meeting, he said, laid the groundwork for the future political party by drafting statutes, internal regulations, and an organizational structure based on ethics, transparency, patriotism, sovereignty, and Pan-Africanism.
Continuing his remarks, Mr. Abdoulaye Tine indicated that the documents were subsequently revised during a new general assembly held last week. Participants collectively reviewed the statutes to refine them and prepare for the party's official launch. In his view, the ceremony on July 25th does not represent the birth of yet another party on the Senegalese political scene, but rather the formalization of a project for "political and national renewal."
He announced that the name of the new political party would be revealed at the end of the ceremony, before the structuring work continued throughout the country. Abdoulaye Tine called on activists to continue their mobilization efforts on the ground, believing that the future of the project would depend on its establishment in municipalities, departments, regions, universities, markets, and villages. "The party will not be built in a day, nor with a single speech. It will be built on the ground," he declared, inviting leaders and supporters to bring this new phase of the Diomaye President coalition to life, remaining closely connected to the people.
