« Le temps des discours est derrière nous » : Mamadou Diaw promet une majorité écrasante au président Diomaye
Mamadou Diaw, supervisor of local elected officials for the Diomaye President coalition, called on activists to move to a new stage of their political engagement, believing that the creation of the new party marks the beginning of a phase resolutely focused on action. Speaking this Saturday at the coalition's inaugural General Assembly, which centered on the official launch of the new presidential political party, Diaw reviewed the nine months of work that led to the coalition's restructuring.
He paid a strong tribute to former Prime Minister Aminata Touré, who was in charge of leading this process. Comparing this period to a pregnancy, he declared that "when carried by a vision, courage and hope, the child that is born is beautiful, strong and destined for a great future," before adding that with this ceremony, "this child is born" and now enters the political history of Senegal.
According to Mamadou Diaw, the party's launch is not an end in itself, but the starting point for a vast structuring project across the entire national territory. He called on leaders and activists to build an organization firmly established in every village, every town, every department, every region, as well as within the diaspora. The supervisor of local elected officials emphasized the strategic role of territorial representatives, whom he considers the main link between President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and the people. In his view, their mission is to implement the reforms undertaken, explain the government's record, and maintain an ongoing dialogue with citizens.
Displaying ambitious electoral goals, Mamadou Diaw expressed his conviction that the new party would win a majority of local government seats in the upcoming elections. He also raised the possibility of dissolving the National Assembly, assuring that elected officials, activists, and key members of the party would mobilize to provide the Head of State with a "strong, stable, and undeniable" parliamentary majority.
He reaffirmed the commitment of local elected officials alongside President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. "Our commitment goes beyond words. We will work tirelessly to convince, mobilize, and win," he declared, before promising to do everything possible to support the Head of State towards a second term in order to continue the transformation of Senegal.
