« Les Sénégalais vivent plus difficilement qu'il y a deux ans » : Abdou Khafor Touré critique le bilan du pouvoir
The spokesperson for the Alliance for the Republic (APR), Abdou Khafor Touré, paints a bleak picture of the economic and social situation in Senegal. Two years after the new authorities came to power, he believes that the promises of change have not produced the expected effects on the daily lives of the people.
Speaking on iRadio's "Sunday Jury," he argued that the high cost of living, the economic slowdown, and the difficulties faced by households reflect a lack of tangible results. He stated that many families are now struggling to pay their children's school fees or meet their day-to-day expenses, while several economic sectors, particularly construction, are experiencing a significant downturn.
Abdou Khafor Touré also criticizes the government for having given more importance to political confrontations than to economic and social emergencies. In his view, the priorities should have been employment, purchasing power, and improving living conditions.
The former director of the National Agency for Youth Employment particularly emphasizes the need to make professional integration a national priority. He advocates for a long-term strategy based on the continuity of public policies, a better match between training and the needs of the labor market, and sustained support for young people.
For him, the future of Senegal will depend on its ability to transform its youth into a true engine of development rather than victims of unemployment and precariousness.
