LFR 2026 : Le Premier ministre Al Aminou Lo se dit « convaincu » d’un compromis avec Pastef
Prime Minister Al Aminou Lo still hopes to reach a compromise with Pastef MPs on the amending finance bill (LFR), which was rejected on October 23 by parliamentarians from the majority party.
In an interview with France 24 from Dakar, the head of government expressed optimism about the outcome of the discussions. "I remain convinced that we can reach an agreement," he declared.
specifying that he had requested the continuation of discussions and stating that he was willing to examine the amendments proposed by the members of parliament.
Al Aminou Lo also stressed the need to restore the sustainability of public debt. "We must address Senegal's debt. We must make it viable again by discussing it with both our official and private creditors," he stated.
The Prime Minister also maintained that his predecessor, Ousmane Sonko, now President of the National Assembly, had himself acknowledged, during their last discussions, that the debt trajectory was not sustainable and that it needed to be addressed.
Despite disagreements surrounding the Finance Law, the head of government believes a negotiated solution remains possible, especially as Senegal prepares to host the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) in Dakar. He affirmed that the country is ready to welcome international delegations, expressing his hope that this event will "reinforce the hope we place in our young people."

On ne dit pas « convaincu d’un compromis » mais « convaincu de la possibilité ou de la probabilité d’un compromis »
