Dismissal of the Director General of Health: "The entire medical community knew he wasn't up to the task," states Dr. Mansour Diop

The Director General of Aristide Le Dantec Hospital, Dr. Mansour Diop, addressed the controversy surrounding the departure of the former Director General of Health, Dr. Ousmane Cissé. He stated that this dismissal was based on purely professional reasons and a mismatch in qualifications, refuting any political considerations.

First, addressing his participation in a meeting organized in Parcelles Assainies by Fifi Diakhaté, the wife of Dr. Ousmane Cissé, Mansour Diop clarified that it was solely a community development initiative aimed at supporting the municipality. He emphasized that his presence did not signify any political endorsement, reaffirming his continued commitment to his political party through the renewal of his membership card and his involvement in training programs for women in his community.

Faced with rumors that he orchestrated Dr. Ousmane Cissé's departure, the head of Le Dantec Hospital categorically rejects these accusations. He reiterates that the Head of State, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, acts with complete autonomy, without consulting him, whether appointing or dismissing senior officials. According to him, the former director general's difficulties were evident well before his resignation and stemmed primarily from a lack of performance.
