Tensions are rising between a faction of the Pastef party and the executive branch. In an interview with Seneweb, MP Maimouna Bousso directly criticizes President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, accusing him of straying from the spirit of change expressed by voters. According to the MP, certain decisions made by the head of state warrant increased oversight by the National Assembly. "The President of the Republic has committed a democratic coup; he has betrayed his oath," she asserts.
The accusation of a return to old practices
Maimouna Bousso believes that Bassirou Diomaye Faye was elected on the promise of a clean break with the practices of previous regimes. She now criticizes him for surrounding himself with figures from the old regimes, some of whom, she claims, have been cited or implicated in audit reports. For the MP, this situation raises two possibilities: either the head of state believes that Pastef will not follow him down the path he wishes to take, or his current entourage is influencing him in a direction different from the break and transparency promised to the Senegalese people.
"It is the Senegalese people who are being betrayed."
The MP also refuses to reduce the current political crisis to a simple quarrel between Bassirou Diomaye Faye and Ousmane Sonko. "People are talking about Sonko's betrayal, but in reality, it is the Senegalese people who are being betrayed," she maintains. According to her, the Senegalese voted for profound change, not for a continuation, in another form, of certain practices and figures from the old regimes. She believes that the role of MPs is now to fully utilize the oversight mechanisms available to the National Assembly. "If we had been able to tie his hands and feet, we would have," she declares, specifying that, unable to prevent certain presidential decisions, the parliamentary majority intends to exercise its institutional prerogatives.
The institutional power struggle in the background
This statement comes amid a political climate marked by tensions between the two heads of the executive branch and by questions surrounding the future of relations between Pastef and the President of the Republic. Maimouna Bousso is thus advocating a firm stance: supporting the proposed break with the past while exercising strict control over presidential actions. Beyond the particularly strong language used by the MP, her intervention primarily reflects a major political question: how far does the parliamentary majority stemming from Pastef intend to go in controlling President Bassirou Diomaye Faye? The debate is therefore no longer simply about relations between two former allies. It now touches on the interpretation of the mandate given by the voters and the very definition of the promised break with the past in Senegal.

Woy sama ndeye 😂
unbelievable how our country (Senegal) is hijacked by ass holes like this. We really need prayers.
Allah Aza Wazala please stop these ass holes
